Due to securing multiple large new contracts, ARA FIRE is looking for Multi Skilled Technicians to join one of Australia leading Fire Protection companies..

About the position

As a multi skilled technician, you will be working independently and in a team to service and maintain Portable Fire Equipment, Exit/Emergency Lights ,Fire doors & Fire alarm systems. You will be responsible for providing electronic reports back to our office & carry repairs based off our reports.

Duties

  • Inspect and report on condition of Portable, Exit/Emergency Lights, Fire Door  & Fire Panel Assets
  • Carry out repairs to portable equipment
  • Plan and schedule your own work load to meet our clients expectations
  • Communicate with Customers on defect findings

Skills & Experience

  • MUST have fire industry experience
  • Full technical and safety training will be provided as required, based on experience.
  • Good customer focus and attitude will be essential.

  • Certified Work Safely at Heights
  • Construction Industry White Card
  • Current Drivers Licence

We are currently looking to employ First Year Apprentice Diesel Mechanic at the following depots:

  • Work alongside trade qualified staff to keep our fleet moving whilst learning a trade 
  • Assist in maintaining a fleet of vehicles including the latest models and innovative vehicle technology
  • Participate in an extensive training program and continual support

  • Full-time position with employment to commence in January 2021

Our workshop staff play a critical role within the business to ensure our ever-evolving fleet of vehicles are continually maintained to the highest standard to keep our staff and passengers safe out on the road.

Busways provides ongoing training and support to employees based on their level of experience to enable you to meet our standards.

The successful applicants will be entering into a 4-year training contract within a secure employment environment. You will receive full ‘on the job’ and TAFE training as well as guidance and assistance from a mentor with solid mechanical experience.

The Job

  • Perform minor repairs and service of vehicles and equipment, in a timely manner, within your skill level and experience under the supervision of a qualified tradesperson
  • Undertaking a Nationally recognised training program as a Diesel Mechanic
  • Complete all units of the Apprenticeship to the required standards and within the required time frame(s)
  • Attend all required TAFE classes under the guidance of your mentors, supervisor and teachers
  • Adhering to all Work, Health & Safety requirements whilst performing work duties

Eligibility Criteria:

To be considered for this role, you will need to possess:

  • A completed School Certificate or High School Certificate
  • Good Maths, Science and English skills
  • A genuine interest in a diesel mechanic career
  • Good communication skills
  • Strong focus on safety in the workplace
  • A positive ‘Can Do’ attitude, self-motivated, conscientious and eager to learn
  • The ability to take direction and show initiative
  • Current driver’s licence or ability to obtain once you meet the minimum eligibility requirements
  • A strong work ethic which means you will be reliable, punctual and honest and committed to completing your trade qualification
