The Opportunity:

Komatsu have new positions available for Field Service Technicians to join the Whyalla branch.

These roles are on an even-time 7/7 roster, predominantly day shift with night shift as required to service customer needs. You will carry out maintenance and repairs on Komatsu equipment and will contribute to the success of the branch by ensuring high levels of safety, quality and efficiency for the Field Service Department.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Carry out machine diagnostics and repairs on all equipment including testing and adjusting of the equipment operating and monitoring systems.
  • Utilise relevant literature and testing equipment.
  • Demonstrate an appropriate level of technical understanding of the design & function of Komatsu equipment groups.
  • Generate technical reports to a professional standard utilising given formats of Microsoft office programs.
  • Utilise relevant Komatsu operating programs such as Link One and SMAP.
  • Assist in the coordination major site based equipment maintenance projects.
  • Demonstrate accurate service reporting in an efficient manner including KOMSERV templates.
  • Follow required job scopes
  • Be responsible in coordinating required departmental reporting such as TSI & warranty claim processes

The knowledge, skills and abilities we’re looking for:

  • Qualified Heavy Diesel Mechanic.
  • Knowledge and previous experience of the repair and maintenance of earthmoving equipment and components
  • Ability to provide a high level of customer service in line with our Customer Support Charter
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Sound understanding of computer systems and Microsoft Office
  • Demonstrated commitment to safety and the ability to work unsupervised
  • All current tickets including first aid, forklift.
  • MR classification driver’s licence and driving history report essential

  • An excellent understanding and commitment to safety and the environment.
  • Ability to analyse trouble-shoot technical problems and recommend solutions for maintenance and/or repair requirements
  • Be energetic and passionate, with the ability to work with minimal supervision
  • Well-developed written, relationship-building, and oral skills
  • Demonstrated understanding of trace servicing and repair standards and procedures, with ability to read and interpret service and parts manuals
  • Current Drivers Licence

Tesla is looking for an experienced and dynamic Field Service Technician to work in one of the most progressive companies in the world. We are seeking experienced service technicians with excellent oral and written communication skills to work within the Energy Products team. Tesla needs a diversely talented and highly mobile technician ready to move quickly in order to keep our systems fully operational. The primary job is to service, troubleshoot, or upgrade stationary battery equipment and Tesla charging infrastructures as needed. Applicants should be self-motivated team players with a positive attitude! As stated, this role will require a significant amount of travel set around the service and upkeep our stationary battery network.

Job tasks and responsibilities

  • Troubleshoot and repair equipment as defined by the service engineering team.
  • Be ready to travel for extended periods of time covering multiple locations.
  • Perform complex and precise electro-mechanical debug, rework and repair.
  • Perform tasks requiring a high level of skill and patience.
  • Operate a variety of hand tools, power tools, diagnostic and measuring equipment (including DMMs and oscilloscopes).
  • Develop and follow best practices and procedures for various maintenance activities related to Tesla Energy equipment.
  • Maintain high levels of communication and feedback within the Tesla Energy service organization; prepare daily updates of work completed, problems identified, and future timelines.
  • Have flexibility to provide support outside your region and possibly outside the country as required.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned per our growth and diversity across applications.
  • Actively work across Powerwall and Supercharger sites, ensuring they stay online and performing at an optimal level.

Skills and experience

  • Certified Electrician (Cert III (3)+ in Electrical/Electro Technology)
  • Minimum 3+ years' electrical experience' within the Commercial, Industrial or Utility sector. (Solar/Wind experience is preferred)
  • Must have up to date Electrical Registration/Licence.
  • Must be able to work from complex and detailed documentation and/or verbal and written instructions depending on situation.
  • Strong computer skills. Comfort with Microsoft office and cloud-based computing programs. Ability to communicate and function well in a mobile office setting.
  • Ability to read and understand manufacturing instructions, electrical diagrams, and mechanical drawings.
  • Must be reliable, have good initiative, committed, and quality focused.
  • Willingness to work outdoors, on the road, at unusual hours.
  • Ability to lift 20-25kg.
  • Valid driver's license required.
  • Knowledge of operation and maintenance of a wide variety of hand and power tools, shop tools, test equipment.
  • Ability to follow oral and written instructions.
  • Ability to establish and maintain cooperative working relationships with those      contacted in the course of work, including the public.
  • Ability to effectively handle multiple priorities, organize workload, and meet deadlines.
  • Ability to maintain and perform top level professional integrity and appearance.
