Icon Water’s Maintenance Delivery team are looking for four hard-working and dependable individuals to join our Infrastructure Services team as Labourers for our metering replacement project until June 2023.

You will be responsible for:

  • Replacing water meters and completing scheduled maintenance tasks in a timely manner
  • Being safety-focused in everything you do, by identifying workplace hazards and conducting risk assessments
  • Completing relevant documentation and reporting requirements

You will need to be confident to take the lead on hard & soft-scaping construction elements and supervise apprentices & labourers (if required) to help bring garden designs to completion.

Along with the responsibility of leading when required you will have the autonomy to make decisions on how to work and will be rewarded for exceptional outcomes both construction wise and within the teams dynamics.

The Team
You would be working closely but independently with the construction manager as a second point of knowledge and experience.

The Challenge
Only a skilled individual with skills in masonry, timber, soft-scaping or a combination of the 3 will be successful in this role.

What this opportunity involves:

JLL have an exciting new opportunity for an On Site Handyperson to provide a professional and effective level of service to one of our key government clients. This Canberra based role sits within the Integrated Facilities Management business line of JLL.

Snapshot of the role:

  • Ensuring all maintenance undertaken conforms to the WHS legislative requirements.
  • General and preventative maintenance of office buildings and other operational facilities.
  • Removing and installing whiteboards, plaques, signage and screens.
  • Mailroom and Courier management
  • Change of carpet tiles and patching and painting as required.
  • Overseeing all plant and equipment maintenance, ensuring inspections, maintenance and service records are updated.
  • Building strong relationships with the client, contractors, trades people and suppliers.
  • Act as the information conduit between the client, service contractors and building management.
  • Conduct routine site inspections and;
  • Support the Facilities Management team in administrative functions, minor works projects and reporting when required.

This role is subject to Commonwealth Government Security vetting processes where you must be an Australian Citizen in order to conduct this check.
