Skills and Experience:

  • Trade certificate in Mechanical Engineering (Fitting).
  • Tertiary training in Fluid Power
  • Proven track record of having worked in the hydraulic industry and providing fluid power solutions on industrial and mobile equipment.
  • Ability to record and document daily processes accurately.
  • Ability to work unsupervised or as part of a team.
  • Ability to liaise confidently with Customers.
  • Assist to provide estimates, options, improvements to clients and generate ongoing work.
  • Mine site shut down work, pertaining to hydraulics & lubrication on Fixed Plant

The role includes both workshop tasks in our facility in Kewdale and performing work on Customer's sites both metro and throughout WA. Experience with trouble shooting hydraulic and mechanical breakdowns and upkeep of hydraulic equipment is the skill most desired for this role.

We are currently expanding with a unique opportunity for  an Electronic/Avionics Technician to join the Innovaero team in a full time position in Perth.  The position will require a proactive candidate who is looking to work alongside a dedicated design, production and flight operations team for the development and manufacture of aeronautical products and unmanned aerial systems.

Key Duties and responsibilities

  • Delivery of avionic / electronic systems installation, configuration, test and maintenance support to aeronautical components and systems
  • Unmanned Aerial Systems (UAS) flight line maintenance and operations support
  • Electronic and avionic product sub-systems manufacture and assembly in accordance with design data and work orders.
  • Production and termination of electrical wiring, cables and harnesses in accordance with approved drawings schematics and specifications
  • Work with design engineering team for manufacture of prototypes in accordance with designs, specifications and technical data
  • Conduct and support to the test and evaluation of prototype avionic/electrical systems
  • Technical and maintenance support to in-service electronic/avionic products and systems.

Qualifications and Experience

  • Completion of relevant Cert IV / Diploma / Apprenticeship program
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in avionic/electronics production or maintenance roles
  • Unmanned aerial systems maintenance and operations experience
  • High proficiency with recording and interpretation of technical data, drawings and schematics for electronic / avionic systems  
  • Demonstrated high level problem-solving, trouble shooting and communications skills
  • Demonstrated experience in multidisciplinary engineering environment
  • Australian citizenship and willingness to obtain and maintain a security clearance

Desirable Requirements

  • Aviation maintenance background with B2 licence
  • Unmanned aerial systems experience
  • Schematic drafting skills and CAD for electronic/avionic systems

About the Role:

Located in Kewdale and reporting to the Maintenance Supervisor, your role will involve the maintenance & repair of drill hole surveying and geophysical logging equipment, along with some vehicle installations maintenance.  This position may require ad hoc travel to various sites for repairs and maintenance of our equipment.

About You:

To be successful in this role candidates applying must possess the following attributes, skills and work history:

Essential Skills:

  • Minimum Certificate 3 qualification (or equivalent) in electronics or higher.
  • Relevant trade experience in component level diagnostics and repair of electronic equipment and instrumentation.
  • Good mechanical ability.
  • A strong commitment to safe work practices.
  • Able to work in a team environment.
  • Be physically fit and able to pass a functional capability assessment.
  • Exceptional attention to detail

Desirable Skills:

  • Experience repairing microcontroller-based equipment.
  • High level soldering skills including SMT rework experience.
  • Confident computer skills.

Kinetic Logging Services will provide training in the use and diagnostics of all specialist equipment to the successful applicant.

The role is centred around the following tasks:

  • Fitting Hydraulic Attachments
  • Fabricate hydraulic hoses
  • Carry out fabrication work including welding, drilling, grinding, bending and cutting ofmaterials
  • Dismantle faulty components and assemblies and repair or replace defective parts
  • Set up and/or operate hand and machine tooling and equipment
  • Compile fault lists on machines
  • Carry out machine function and safety checks as per manufacturers' specification
  • Carry out periodic maintenance to various types of Material Handling Equipment
  • Carry out electrical diagnosis, repair and replacement of components
