We are a leading supplier of food service equipment to the Fast Food and Catering Industry. We are a family owned 141 year old national company focused on providing excellent customer service.

The Position:

J L Lennard Pty Ltd are looking to increase our Victorian Service Team for our Food Service division, based within the Melbourne metro area. The ideal applicant would be an experienced and licensed Gas service technician. Other trades qualifications also considered. A current driver's licence is essential. Our range of service work covers servicing, installation, commissioning and preventative maintenance of a diverse range of catering equipment.

The Applicant:

We are looking for the successful applicant to have the following skills:

  • Excellent customer service skills
  • All relevant trade licenses for Gas, Electrical and  / or Refrigeration works
  • Experience in the Food Service Industry beneficial
  • Ability to time manage effectively

We offer a competitive salary package including fully maintained vehicle and mobile phone. Normal working hours of Monday to Friday 8am to 4pm.

Job tasks and responsibilities

  • Cabling from plans and schematics. Cabling may include conduiting, chasing, digging and trenching and tying of cables to tray and wire.
  • Work with other members of the team and manage projects.
  • Following schematics applying to equipment installation.
  • Installation of equipment in plaster ceilings, plaster walls, brick and masonry.
  • Installation of equipment in racks and cupboards.
  • Wiring up of security boards, sensors, switches, speakers, etc.
  • Managing van and day to day supplies.
  • Driving to office to pick up equipment and documents for jobs.
  • Occasionally driving to pick up equipment.
  • Driving to different sites each day.
  • Liase with customer or builder to make sure they are satisfied.
  • Documentation of job when necessary.

Skills and experience

  • Confident installer. Experience installing products in finished surfaces.
  • Must have had 5 years of experience in installation.
  • Looking foir someone who has managed other technicians/apprentices.
  • Strong work ethic. Someone who enjoys their work!
  • Keen problem solver, an ability to think logically and patient with fault finding.
  • Clean and organised.
  • Willing to learn and adapt as technologies change.
  • Polite, punctual and presentable.

Job Title: Field Service Technician

Job Location: Melbourne based, with regular travel to state capitals and regions around Australia

Role Responsibilities:

  • Scheduled Servicing and repair of Hundegger machinery at customer sites.
  • Carry out in depth technical investigations of any system issues and provide accurate recommendations to the Customer and Service Manager
  • Identify and correct any failures or defects incurred during operation in a timely manner
  • Perform training to existing and/or new customer staff in efficient operation and basic maintenance of Hundegger machinery
  • Ensure all installation safety requirements and protocols, including all adherence to SWMS and SOP’s are intact and up to date
  • Production monitor and assist/advise customers on process improvements.
  • Control and maintain the spare parts stock at customer sites and company vehicles
  • Install new machinery – stand alone or integrated with automated systems at customer sites
  • Provide rostered (during regular business hours) Remote Support to customers and machines.

Before applying, you will have:

  • Experience as a multi-axis CNC wood working machinery Service Engineer/Technician, with Electrical/ Mechanical Trade qualification
  • Excellent customer relationship skills
  • Willingness to work autonomously as a Service Technician
  • Experience in the repair and maintenance of general mechanical and pneumatic equipment
  • Ability to work independently and efficiently
  • Solution orientated approach in challenging situations.
  • Excellent communication and Remote diagnostic skills
